Mouse House

"Mouse House"

This EggScape™ uses the ends of pine cones attached to the wide end of a goose egg imitating an acorn. If you were to see the actual Mouse House, you would see that inside are tiny framed drawings of Mitzi's husband, Frank. She used a computer and scanner to capture these images, reduce them, and then print them so that they are smaller than the fingernail of your littlest finger.

By the way, all the EggScapes™ are real egg shells and they were laid by real birds. The egg that egg artists use most commonly are goose eggs. They are probably the easiest shell to carve, because they're not too thick. Still they are thick enough so that they're not excessively fragile. A hen's egg, in contrast, is so fragile that it takes skill to do anything beyond fairly simple crafts with it.
